Nutrition and Fitness

September 25, 2009

Nutrition is important for living organisms to sustain life. Good nutrition helps to prevent many commonly occurring health related problems. Nutrients come in seven different classes such as carbohydrates, fats, vitamins etc. and many foods tend to contain a mixture of these classes. Poor heath occurs due to the deficiency or excess of these nutrients in our body. Just as nutrition is important to our good health so as fitness. Being fit involves working on all the aspects of your body – what you eat, how you maintain your diet etc. Nowadays everyone goes on and on about abs (six pack, eight packs etc.) but being fit isn’t just about having these stuff. A six pack might look good but it is not of much use if you are not strong enough mentally. If you are not eating well, it directly affects you both physically and mentally. Hence to be fit strong enough, forget the abs-pack craze. There is no point in having numbers that you can count on your stomach. It is better to have increased core muscle strength rather than having a six pack. Every individual must know about their body thoroughly and they should work out to shape their body according to their job demands.
